Canyonlands
Canyonlands National Park is divided into three sections by the Green and Colorado Rivers. As a result, the park is very remote and is best seen with a 4x4 off road vehicle. We visited Island in the Sky and The Needles, but stayed on the paved road due to our need to keep our Jeep fully operational for the long journey. The Island in the Sky surprised us with its beautiful views of a canyon that rivals Grand Canyon. We were amazed that we had never heard of it before planning this trip. Even though it is more inaccessible than other parks, we would highly recommend making a stop if close by.
